Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy is the most natural thing for a woman, yet it’s a phase that completely changes her life forever. Whether it’s a planned or unplanned pregnancy, its symptoms can be very puzzling. One minute you are absolutely certain that you are pregnant and the next moment you find yourself again confused. Pregnancy symptoms can start showing as early as the first month or as late as the third month. And as your body goes through many changes, you wish you were certain whether you are pregnant or not.

Helping you work through this tough time are these pregnancy symptoms that will help you ascertain whether you are actually pregnant or not and help you prepare for the months ahead.

Nausea and Vomiting: this is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy setting in. if out of no reason you are feeling nauseated or a vomiting feeling is just not leaving you then probably you are pregnant. This sign often shows much before you have crossed the first month and realize that you have missed a period. However nausea and vomiting can be severe for someone and hardly anything to notice for another. So watch out.

Altered Taste: pregnant women also find that their likes and dislikes about food has altered to some extent. You may suddenly find all kinds of food to repeal you or take some food to be your favorite and others just intolerable. If you find yourself asking the question, ‘I didn’t seem to be so fond of this food earlier’ then most probably you are pregnant.

Light Bleeding or Cramping: some women may experience implantation spotting for eight days of ovulation. You may also feel a bit of cramping like you feel during periods and a bit of spotting pink or brown in color.

Frequent Loo Visit: this is one pregnancy symptom that’s difficult to ignore. All of a sudden you will find yourself visiting the loo quite often. This symptom will stay with you the entire first semester and probably once more in the third semester.


Fatigue: tiredness and sudden fatigue are going to become your companion. With lot of hormone changes going on in your body, you will feel exhausted very easily. If you find your daily activities becoming a challenge then you just might be pregnant.

Morning Sickness: this is one pregnancy symptom that is most commonly felt my maximum women. But morning sickness doesn’t mean feeling nauseated and queasy only in the morning. It can hit you just any time of the day, but the most common occurrence is during the morning time. And if you are one of the lucky women then you may skip it altogether.

Mood Swings: feeling happy and elated one moment and completely depressed the next, well you may just be going through mood changes. Mood swings can begin as early as one or two weeks of pregnancy and is going to stay with you for most of the trip.

Heartburn and Constipation: if these are not problems that generally disturb you and all of a sudden you are having repeated heartburn and constipation, no matter how careful you are about your diet then it can be counted as a pregnancy symptom.

Missed Period: this is one pregnancy symptom that can be an assertive sign to all your pregnancy uncertainties. By the time you realize that you have missed a period you have already crossed your first month. So now if you take a home pregnancy test then you are sure to get the desired result.

Home Pregnancy Test: home pregnancy tests are not always correct but if you are getting a positive test result then 90% it is correct. However, if it’s showing negative then either you can get yourself checked from a gynecologist or follow up with another pregnancy test after a week.
